The Wandering Swordsman Arc covers the introduction of the Kenshingumi (which
roughly translates to the Kenshin Group) and gives some background information
on the main characters. It starts out with Kenshin assuming the role as a
wanderer where he first meets Kaoru in the
streets of Tokyo. Along the way, Kenshin meets several new friends including
Yahiko,
Sanosuke and Megumi. Kenshin also meets
one of his deadly rivals Aoshi. The weakest
of all arcs because of its less serious tone, but necessary reading/watching to
get good ground work for Kenshin and his friends.
