Seta Sohjiro

Always smiling Sohjiro is a cunning and quick fighter. One of his main skills is not showing any emotions when fighting in battle, which makes it difficult for opponents to read what his next move will be. Another skill he uses is the super god-like speed Shukuchi (actually its a form of speed faster than god-like speed).

Sohjiro's life began as a tragedy. As a young boy, he was used as a slave by his brothers and sisters because he had a different mother. The results were an abusive relationship between him and his family; they piled on tons of unreasonable tasks for him to do. During the time they constantly beat on him, he always had a smile on his face because when he cried or got angry, the family would get even more upset and call him selfish. One night he was caught watching Shishio killing a cop in the street. Because Sohjiro was smiling when Shishio was about to kill him, his life was spared (Shishio wondered why Sohjiro was so excited about being killed). It was here Shishio introduced to him the idea of "being strong allowed you to live and being weak meant you died." Shishio gave him his first sword as payment for bringing him rice balls and bandages. Members of the family began to notice the missing items in the house, and because of this, they immediately were suspicious of Sohjiro. They got so angry, they threatened to kill him. Fearing for his life, Sohjiro took the sword given to him and killed all of his family members, with no remorse on his face. It is here Sohjiro learned his most valuable asset: fighting with no emotion (specifically no facial emotions on his face). Shishio took him under his wing and trained him. "The strong survives, the weak die;" it is a creed that Sohjiro lived by, no matter what truth his heart told him. And it is all he knew until he meets Kenshin.
