Jinchuu (Revenge) arc

Manga Volumes: 18-28
Anime Episodes: None.
Prequel was animated as OVA 1-4 (covers the chapters of Kenshin's days
during the revolution)
The Jinchuu (Revenge) Arc covers Enishi's
return to Tokyo to extract revenge on Kenshin for the death of his sister
Tomoe .
It also covers the Kenshin's days during the revolution, sort of a prequel
to the Rurouni Kenshin storyline. The good news is the prequel part of the
arc was animated via the first 4 OVA episodes. The bad news is the rest of
the arc was never animated as Nobuhiro Watsuki was still working on
completing this arc when the Kyoto arc animation was finished. During this
time Sony created filler episodes (63-95) as Watsuki was finishing the
revenge arc. Unfortunately ratings for the show plummeted in Japan and it was eventually pulled off the air and canceled.
There were lots of sites dedicated to translating this arc and posting
Manga scans of them online, but since the recent announcement of the Manga
being licensed, most of that stuff has been pulled offline. Until Shonen
Jump or VIZ releases the Manga here in the states, the only way to read this
arc is to download Manga translations from
maigo-chan's Ruroken Translations and to purchase volumes 18-28 of
the Japanese Manga (I have seen them listed at the
Sasuga Japanese
Bookstore website, but they may not have them all in stock). I advise
you to NOT SPOIL THIS SAGA FOR YOURSELF; it is
the most jaw dropping and compelling saga out of all three of them. If you
have no access to a Japanese bookstore, please do your best to avoid
reading about the Revenge arc and wait for VIZ to release them. Trust me,
you wont regret it. For now you can pick up the OVA DVDs (volume 1 is
named: trust, volume 2 is named betrayal, or you can get the directors cut
named trust and betrayal).
