Who is this mysterious Earthling?
Freeza and his father
King Cold land on planet Earth and begin to send their troops to take over Earth. As soon
as they are sent out, slashes of a sword are seen every where and body pieces of the
soldiers are falling on the floor. Out of the dust, a young man appears. Freeza asks the
young man "what do you want Earthling?" The young man tells Freezer that
he is going to destroy him.
If your one of the few who is lucky
enough to have International Channel in your area, your in for a treat. On Sunday, June
27,1999 IC showed the first episode when Future Trunks appears. The good news is that the
episodes are uncensored and untouched. You are seeing raw Dragonball Z strait from Japan.
Unfortunately for us 'non eastern' speakers, the episodes are not sub titled, which means
that you wont understand whats going on.

as to what's going on.

A Doomed future for
Earth In Trunks version of the future, two evil
beings terrorize earth. They are powerful and destructive. The Z team swings into action
in an attempt to defeat the new threats. Unfortunately they have no effect and the Z team
is killed one by one: Piccolo, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Krillin and even Vegita were defeated
easily. The two powerful beings are known as number 17 and 18: the two android. The only
survivor of the Z team was Son Gohan. When Trunks explains this to Goku, he asks Trunks
"what happened to me?" Goku was stricken with a incurable virus which
unexpectedly kills him before the androids appeared (Goku was actually more disappointed
at missing the battles upon hearing this). |

The mysterious
young man
Trunks is the
young man who came to the past to save the future. He traveled in a time machine built by
Bulma in an effort to alter the horror of his reality. His main goal is to find Son Goku
and hopes that he can help find a solution to the problem. When he finds Goku he explains
what happened. Trunks is the son of Vegita and Bulma (Goku flips out upon hearing this),
which explains why he is able to transform into a Super Saiyan. |

Dr.Gero creations Goku defeated an organization called the Red
Ribbon in his earlier adventures. A doctor who was part of this organization survived and
for years plotted to one day defeat Goku. Dr.Gero an evil but excellent scientist, created
the Androids who sole purpose is to destroy Son Goku. He goes under the alias "number
20" in the beginning of the series (he is the android on the right). He is able to
combine human with cybernetic parts. Dr. Gero is accompanied by one of his creation,
number 19 (the android on the left). They both have the ability to absorb energy from
their opponents. |
Android
17 and 18
At first Dr.Gero tried to defeat Son Goku (and his friends)
with himself and number 19. After the failed attempt, Dr.Gero heads back to his lab to
regroup. Trunks returns to the past to check up on things. Upon seeing the debris of
android 19 Trunks thinks to himself "what's going on? This is not the android I
fought!" The first two androids that show up are not from Trunks's future. Back at
the lab, Dr. Gero is reluctant to start his backup androids because they are hard to
control. Having no other option he activates number 17 (top picture) and 18 (bottom
picture). These two turn on their creator and kill him (just as they did in Trunks's
story). It turns out that these are the real androids and they are more powerful than the
two in the future. They act differently however (less destructive...a little). |

Another android?!? Now Trunks is confused. When the Z team
reaches Dr.Gero lab they confront android 17 and 18 for the first time. These two turn on
their creator and then revive another android, number 16. Trunks doesn't understand what's
going on, because there was no android 16 in his timeline. |
The terror from
the future
A time machine is found which
is identical to the one Trunks has. The only difference is that the machine looks old. The
time machine says that it arrived in this timeline four (4) years ago. Inside the old time
machine was a strange looking egg shell and some animal debris. It was later discovered
that people have been disappearing from cities. Their energy was being drained by a
strange life-force called Cell. A genetically created being (by none other than Dr.Gero
himself) who traveled from a future more distant than that of Trunks. His purpose of
traveling to the past is to absorb android 17 and 18 to become a perfect being. |

Wait there's more!
- Piccolo fuses back with Kami sama:
At one time Kami split into two entities one that was good and one that was evil. The
father (another story) of Piccolo was the result of the evil side. If Kami and Piccolo
merge they will become a super warrior. Now that Piccolo changed and has good in his
heart, and the threat of a greater evil emerging on Earth, will Kami decide to merge back
with Piccolo?
- Exceed past the level of Super
Saiyan: Goku comes up with the idea to train in the "room of time"
where one day on Earth is equal to one year. If Goku and Vegita train in the "room of
time", they can have one year of training in one day! Can the Saiyans surpass the
level of Super Saiyan?!?
I hope this helps out. I left out some details that may or
may not be important, but this should be enough to help you understand what's going on.
This covers the series until December (barring any intervention from IC). When the time
comes, I will update this section to cover the second half of the series.
